March. Unleashing the madness.

How many lucky clovers and Irish blessings does it take for World Peace?

Hiya friends - how are you holding up?

So who knew March would bring so much madness with it? I was hoping to write a sunny, happy missive about spring. How lovely it is to see the trees begin blooming and little buds and flowers poking their heads out. And it's true! The shift to warmer weather brings new life to our landscape and breathes hope into our spirits.

But there's no way to ignore the devastating events of the past week. We're all struggling to understand this even greater crisis while still trying to manage all the other ones.

The best antidote I have is to spend even more time in nature. When the world is filled with uncertainty and fear, I plant myself deeply in the earth and remember the steadiness and flow of the seasons, the waves in the ocean, the phases of the moon. When chaos reigns, I search for order - the patterns of birds migrating in the skies, the singular beauty of petals forming a flower, the intricate lines in a leaf, or the beautiful movement of grasses in the wind.

The only control we have is how we manage our own thoughts and emotions. Take in as much beauty, grace and laughter as you can to balance the darkness and fear. Spring is still happening anyway - the birds are chirping merrily, and the skunks are dancing and squirting their way around the neighborhood for mating season. Ahh, the sweet smell of spring, lol.

SPRING SEASONAL SCENTS

All of the fresh new spring scents are in stock and ready to blossom in your shower: Pink Peony, Spring Rain, and Tahitian Petals. Starting your day awash in the scent of beautiful flowers and clean freshness is a pretty good way to go. Your winter weary soul (and skin) will thank you.

SAMPLE SALE ON NOW

I always get the itch to do a little spring cleaning around the studio when the weather warms up a little. This past month I made a bunch of experiment batches, using up sample fragrances, trying out new scents and colors, playing around with ideas. These new soaps will be on sale this month ($5 each). They are one-of-a-kind smallish batches, so when they are gone, that's it. But if you found something you loved (or hated), please let me know. I'm always working on new seasonal projects and the feedback is a big help.

Early bird gets the worm! 7 new scents available: Amber & Tobacco Leaf, Bay Leaf & Cedar, Clover Meadow, Frosted Fir, Gentleman Farmer, Incense & Birchwood, and Sunflower Fields.

SPRAY AWAY THE DREARY

Spritzing my place like a crazy person with aromatic sprays has been keeping me sane lately. Maybe you need a lift of Lilac Garden or Jasmine Lemon to bring the brightness of spring to your rain & snow storms? I've been needing Beach House to remind of the sea while we're shriveling up in another dry spell here. And Winter Solstice with it's calming forest scent grounds me on the most stressful days. What's your must have? Sweet Dreams for a deeper night's sleep? Vanilla Bean & Honey for a cozy Sunday morning?

Take the very best care of yourselves. Breathe peace, calm and kindness.
