And hello June! The month when summer really starts to heat up.
Have you noticed that lately it feels like we are being bombarded with messages telling us all the ways in which we are not somehow “enough?” There are endless suggestions and protocols and supplements for better sleep, better nutrition, better habits, morning routines, mindsets, skincare, boundaries, exercise, and on and on. Maybe this month we just let ourselves be. Not productive. Not optimized. Not monitoring anything. Just alive and breathing. We are all enough and we’re obviously resilient, amazing, heroes, still standing while the circus carries on around us.
Anyone else on board?
SUMMER SEASONAL SOAPS
Even if we’re taking this month to just stare at the sky or float around for hours with a pool noodle, showers are still in. Enjoyment and delight are definitely still a thing. Fancy soap and feeling pretty are the best parts of being alive, at least in my book.

Sudsing up with any of these lovelies makes the chilling out a lot more fun and can keep you smelling fresh as a daisy. You'll be sad, dry and scratchy if you end up showering with something drab and uninspired like grocery store soap.
Heads up! Father’s Day is right around the corner - June 21. I know it’s traditional to get them regular “stuff”like ties, socks, bbq tools, tech gadgets, and games. But why not think outside the box and get them something they wouldn’t buy for themselves?
Gift them something they might secretly love, but think they have to sneak when no one’s looking. Sexy handmade soap!! I know for a fact (trust me) that there are guys who really like to use good smelling, creamy lathering, handmade soap. They find a few of their faves and buy in bulk quantities so they don’t run out. Stockpiling and hoarding is trending again!
You can still have that barbecue and do all the usual Dad stuff on the weekend, but maybe sneak them a few bars of top notch soap too, so they don’t have to pilfer Mom’s stash.
PERSONAL NOTE
You may have noticed that some of my products have been out of stock the last few months. I’ve had less time to work in the studio this year because my parents have been ill. We lost Dad in mid-February to Parkinson’s and Mom passed a week ago from colon cancer. 2026 has truly knocked us flat. We’ve been dealing with hospice at home since the beginning of the year while also navigating the cancer diagnosis at the same time. I don’t usually share personal stuff, but I just wanted to explain why things have been slow and I’ve not been showing up on social media as much. As I get back on my feet I hope to catch up and spend a little more time on work (and pleasure!). Thanks for your patience and understanding, it means a lot to have your support.
It’s summer time and the living should be easy. Simple pleasures. Little joys. Rest and recreation. Slow everything. Free to be . . . your heart knows the way.
